It’s a Hummer!

I recently indulged myself and bought a new car. It’s a ‘baby’ Hummer – the H3. It’s the coolest ‘toy’ I’ve ever bought! :)

Young Amani loves his Dad’s “CARRRR” too and we go off-roading together in the jebels behind our home almost every afternoon.

A picture is worth a thousand words as they say, so here’s 2,000 words worth:

2007 already?

Well it’s hard to believe that we’re already in to the 2nd month of 2007. Whatever happened to 2006?! My how time flies.

The past few weeks have been quite busy for us. Zawadi, Amani and I flew to Australia just before Christmas. It was so nice to spend time with all the family over the festive season. And then on January 13th my daughter Skye got married. I’ve uploaded some photos of Skye and Simons’s wedding. It was a beautiful day all round and was enjoyed by all.

Had a brief stop in Sydney on the way home. Spent the day at Darling Harbour visiting the Sydney Aquarium and Native animal zoo. Little Amani loved it! Then on to Hong Kong where we stayed at a Disneyland hotel. Weather was terrible (so at least the crowds were non-existent), but once again Amani had a great time.

After arriving home I finally made a decision I’ve been sitting on the fence over for the last 3 or 4 years! Which was, should I buy a nice new shiny 4 wheel drive or a beat up old one that didn’t matter if I scratched and dented while wadi bashing. Well, after test driving the new Hummer H3 – there was only one way I could go! So there’s a nice new shiny black one sitting in the drive :-) There’s a few piccies in my photo album (the link is on the right). We christened the car already – drove up through Nizwa and visited the Al Hoota Cave, Misfat and Wadi Tanuf. She’s a beautiful car to drive and I’m looking forward to exploring even more of Oman now that we have the H3.

Welcome

I’ve been meaning to get around to installing WordPress here and finally found the time today. Hopefully it’ll make site news and updates a bit easier to manage.

Anyway, welcome to my site!
